Understanding Surrogacy Medications
At California Surrogacy Center, we do everything we can to make the surrogacy experience as comfortable and healthy as possible. A big part of making sure the experience goes smoothly for a surrogate is making sure they get all of the surrogacy medications they need to make the pregnancy a success.
Why Take Surrogacy Medications During Your Pregnancy?
In a traditionally conceived pregnancy, the pregnant woman’s body naturally produces a plethora of hormones to help the body prepare for conception. However, during a surrogate pregnancy, this hormone release need to be recreated with medication. Below is an overview of the surrogacy medications that may be given to you if you when becoming a surrogate mother for California Surrogacy Center.
Note: Every surrogate is different and may require different medications. Not every surrogate will receive all of these medications, and some may receive medications not listed here.
Low-Dose Aspirin
Aspirin helps your body to stimulate your cycle and assists with embryonic implantation. You will take aspirin until 12 weeks into the pregnancy.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic that fights off any pelvic infection. You will take Doxycycline as an oral tablet.
Tetracycline
Taken orally just a couple of days before the embryo transfer, tetracycline is an antibiotic that works to prevent infection during the transfer. Some side effects include minor digestive issues and sensitivity to the sun.
