Surrogate Mother’s Journey: Meet Pamela
If you’re considering becoming a surrogate mother, it’s natural to wonder about the benefits, risks, and experiences other women have had. But many surrogates don’t have someone in their lives who’s gone through it to talk to. Reading real surrogacy stories can reaffirm your decision and remind you why you chose to help someone start a family. We hope current and future surrogates find comfort in Pam’s surrogate mother story.

Q: Was this your first experience as a surrogate mother?
A: Yes it was and I loved it! Would do it again
Q: What inspired you to become a surrogate mother? (Your “whys?”)
A: The idea of helping others has always been a part of me. When I learned that I could make a difference by becoming a surrogate just got me jumping off the walls! Helping in creating life is just huge!

Q: What was the most challenging part of the medical process? How did you prepare?
A: The most challenging part of the process for me was the medication part. Injecting progesterone daily can take a toll on you. It doesn’t mean it was terrible, but it was somewhat painful on certain days.

Q: Were you nervous about it? Why or why not? What helped you through it?
A: To be very honest, I was more excited than nervous or scared. I couldn’t hold in the joy of being able to even try the surrogate process! My support group were friends, family, and Emmy Life CSC of course! Li was just awesome in guiding me through the whole process!
Q: Did you enjoy being a surrogate mother? What was your favorite part?
A: I loved being a surrogate mother. It gave me this great feeling of joy and proudness. My favorite part was when they gave me the results that the transfer was a success!
Q: Can you speak to the financial aspects of surrogacy and whether it met your expectations?
A: Financially, my expectations were met. The agency does very well separating every category and helped me get the maximum for my compensation.

Q: Why did you choose to work with California Surrogacy Center?
A: Since the moment I started reading the information on their website, to the moment I was able to speak to Yan and Li, I felt this warm energy coming from them. The explanation, the compensation, everything was just perfect.
Q: What kind of support from California Surrogacy Center was most valuable to you?
A: Being able to approach the agency with any questions or doubts and having them be there for you every step of the way really made this process easier.
Q: How do you feel about the family you helped create? Do you stay in touch?
A: I’m thrilled for this new chapter in their lives! We stayed in contact throughout the pregnancy and still continue even after birth. So happy for them.

Q: Would you recommend working with California Surrogacy Center to other potential surrogate mothers or intended parents?
A: Definitely! CSC is very professional but also the people there to help are very nice and helpful.
Q: Do you have any helpful words for other potential surrogate mothers out there?
A: Just do it! I know it can be scary or overwhelming at first, but, this is a day by day process and I know you have it in you to complete it! The feeling of satisfaction that you were able to accomplish this great mission of helping a family/individual become parents is just huge!
